The Wasabi Paddling Club, founded in 1993, provides recreational and competitive Dragon Boat and Outrigger Canoe paddling opportunities, including instruction, for all ages and experience levels. The Wasabi community of paddlers is deeply committed to a culture of accessibility, equity and inclusion welcoming all and providing specialized teams for cancer survivors, the visually impaired, the intellectually disabled, seniors and youth.
Willamette Riverkeeper, founded in 1996, works to protect and restore the Willamette River’s water quality and habitat. It implements programs and projects along the entire river and engages thousands of volunteers annually, from hands-on service trips to focused river education experiences by canoe and kayak. It also owns and stewards multiple properties along the river to enhance wildlife habitat and to provide public access opportunities.
